On February 19, 2018, President Donald Trump endorsed Mitt Romney for the U.S. Senate seat in Utah. Despite previous criticisms of Romney, Trump stated that Romney “will make a great Senator” and that he looks forward to working with him. Romney is a former Republican presidential nominee and governor of Massachusetts. He is running for the Senate seat currently held by Orrin Hatch, who is retiring after 42 years in office. Romney has been critical of Trump in the past, but has also expressed support for some of his policies.
